Human Rights

While most people agree on the importance of protecting human rights, understanding Human Rights legislation and navigating the frequently changing procedures and emerging legal principles can be quite complex.

Our team advises and represents a variety of individual and institutional clients on human right laws, discrimination and harassment in various situations such as accommodations and provision of services under the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act. We have extensive experience representing complainants and respondents with complaints under the Ontario and Federal jurisdictions.

We can advise on a variety of human rights issues, including:

  • Access to Services; Discrimination and harassment in the workplace;
  • Representing clients before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal;
  • Advising employers and employees on the duty of accommodation; and
  • Advising employers and employees of their rights and obligations under human rights legislation.

Mann & Partners LLP also has a strong understanding of the unique and sensitive issues that face clients from the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities. For more information on our Human Rights practice, please contact us today.
