Stephen Guest

Counsel

Stephen is a recent addition to the Mann & Partners, LLP team, joining the firm as counsel in 2011. For more than 36 years, Stephen has provided expert legal services to the Eastern Ontario public. The three pillars of Stephen's practice are real estate, corporations and wills and estates. In the real estate field, he is particularly recognized for his expertise in land development matters, including subdivision and condominium work on behalf of builders and developers. Stephen has also practised extensively in the field of municipal law.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree (with a concentration on Economics and Philosophy) from Carleton University, Stephen attended law school at the University of Ottawa, graduating in 1973. Stephen was then called to the Bar of Ontario in 1975 and, after completing his articles with a prominent Ottawa law firm, helped establish the law firm of Guest and Carroll. After returning to his place of articles and becoming partner, Stephen left private practice to work in-house as general counsel for an Ottawa developer, where he gained further experience in the areas of general real estate law, including land development and municipal law. In 1990, Stephen decided to return to private practice, operating as a sole-practitioner in the areas of general real estate law and land development.

When not engaged in legal work, Stephen enjoys golf, woodworking, welding and gardening. He serves on the board of a homeowners’ association and manages its website.
