Jason is a recent addition to the team at Mann & Partners. After completing his articles with the firm and being called to the Bar in 2010, he joined Mann & Partners as an associate. Jason enjoys interacting with his clients and providing them with practical and timely legal advice. His practice focuses primarily on residential and commercial real estate, as well as corporate/commercial law.

Jason prides himself on providing clients of the firm with help throughout the various stages of a real estate transaction. Whether it is preparing or reviewing an agreement of purchase and sale, or working with a realtor or mortgage broker chosen by our client, Jason does his best to make the process of buying or selling a home as transparent and simple as possible. Jason also enjoys providing help with numerous real estate issues outside of transactional work, including preparing co-tenancy and co-habitation agreements, assisting clients with estate issues related to real estate matters, and advising clients in regards to severances, boundary disputes, and easement and right of way issues. Jason also applies his analytical skills to commercial lease review, and to various aspects of commercial real estate transactions. For the firm’s corporate/commercial clients, Jason assists in preparing and reviewing commercial agreements, such as asset and share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, as well as license agreements.

Born in Kingston and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, Jason obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University where he was President of the Schulich Sports Business Club. Jason is also a graduate of the JD-LL.B program between the University of Ottawa and Michigan State University, receiving his American law degree in 2008 and his Canadian law degree in 2009. During law school, Jason was involved in numerous extra-curricular activities and gained valuable legal experience by working as an intern with the House of Commons legal counsel.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys watching comedies (particularly Seinfeld), travelling with his wife Heather, and golfing. Jason also volunteers his time with LiveWorkPlay, a local Ottawa charity, and is a die-hard fan of both the Michigan State Spartans and the Buffalo Bills.
