Heather Austin-Skaret's practice includes residential and commercial real estate transactions and her legal skills are highly recommended by some of Ottawa's leading real estate agents and mortgage brokers. She is a Certified TitlePlus Specialist and has given many presentations to new home buyers with local financial institutions, realtors and at the Ottawa office of Tarion Warranty Corporation.

With extensive experience in the area of Wills and estates administration, Heather is one of Mann & Partners' must-see people for advice on the development of estate plans. Heather works hard to ensure that clients can go forward with peace of mind. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and has given presentations too.

Heather is a true Maritimer, born in Springhill, Nova Scotia. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours). In 1990, Heather came to Ontario to begin her legal education, and subsequently obtained her LLB from the University of Ottawa in 1994. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1995.

Heather is a founding member of Mann & Partners, LLP. Her practice started with the firm of Gold Gulliver, and thus began Heather's long-standing working relationship and friendship with Ted Mann. With evolution came Gold Gilbert Mann and subsequently Mann & Associates. In late 2003, Heather helped form the dynamic legal team of Mann & Partners, LLP.

Heather is co-chair of the Eastern Solicitors' Conference and is an active member of the County of Carleton Law Association, and the Ontario Bar Association. She remains active with the Capital Business Association, of which she is a past president. She also volunteers time with Friends of Hospice Ottawa, is a former Board member and canvasses for the Ontario March of Dimes and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

When she is not at the office, Heather enjoys spending time with family at home or the cottage, and she also enjoys spending time in the family sugar woods in Nova Scotia, as well as on the volleyball court with Women & Sport.
