Colleen is a member of Mann & Partner’s civil litigation group. Her areas of practice include employment and human rights law; general civil and commercial litigation; and personal injury.
A dedicated and versatile lawyer, Colleen is involved in files relating to wrongful dismissals, commercial contract disputes, and personal injury claims such as slip and falls and injuries caused by product defects. Colleen has also worked on human rights complaints submitted to the Ontario and Canadian Human Rights Tribunals.
Colleen obtained both a civil law (B.C.L.) and common law (LL.B) degree from McGill in 2004. She was called to the Quebec bar in 2005 after first articling and then practicing with a Montreal firm in the areas of commercial, civil and constitutional litigation. In 2006, Colleen was called to the Bar of Ontario and joined a local law firm where she worked primarily in the areas of insurance defence and professional liability.
A native of Ottawa, Colleen earned a B.A. at the University of Guelph in 1995 and an M.A. from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs from Carleton University in 1999. Prior to pursuing her career in law, Colleen worked for a number of national and international institutions including the United Nations in New York where her work involved initiatives to promote compliance with international law.
Colleen is a member of several professional associations including the Advocates Society, the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) and the Barreau de l’Outaouais.
Notwithstanding an incident in 2009 involving a river, a canoe and a large rock, Colleen enjoys white water canoeing, sailing and generally being outdoors with her husband Adam Zanna and their son, Ethan.
